Around 120 Masons packed themselves into Temple three at Tapton Hall, Sheffield, for the Installation of our new Deputy Provincial Grand Master, WBro John Boyington. The Provincial Grand Master was joined by all four Assistant PGMs, a full delegation of Provincial Officers, two Past Deputy PGMs and threePast APGMs, for the ceremony hosted by The Lodge of South Yorkshire No. 9633. Being a ‘daylight’ Lodge, proceedings commenced at 11.45am under the leadership of W. Bro Roger Powell, WM of the lodge, before the RW Provincial Grand Master was admitted by command of WBro Ian Smith, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies. Having taken the Chair, the Provincial Grand Master advised those present of the qualities that had led him to select WBro Boyington as the new Deputy, who was then duly admitted, accompanied by an escort of seven brethren selected as representatives of his various Masonic interests. The Provincial Grand Master duly obligated WBro John who was then ‘Proclaimed and Saluted’ as the new Deputy PGM for Yorkshire, West Riding, before the delegation retired and the Lodge was closed. At the festive board a tribute was paid to VW Bro Stuart Grantham, currently in hospital, whose illness had forced him to stand down from the role. Those present were delighted to hear that Stuart remained very positive and passed his best wishes to all attending. Pictured from left are: W Bro. Ian Lewis, APGM; W Bro.
